Simply take this model out of the box and display. There is no rigging to tie or masts to assemble.
34" H x 5" W x 27" L (1:29 scale).
This wood yacht model sits perfectly on the included wood base.
Our model yachts are made from plank on frame construction. This is a painstaking method which requires each strip of wood to be applied one at a time.
These wooden model yachts are meticulously painted like the actual Courageous.
Our handcrafted model yachts have fabric sails with detailed stitching.
There are no plastic parts on our yacht model.
Extensive research was done to make this model. We used various sources such as the original plans, drawings, paintings, pictures, and visiting the actual America's cup racer.
Requires hundreds of hours to build from scratch (not from a model kit) by our master artisans.
We build our model yachts with rare and high quality woods.

The 67-ft 12 Meter, skippered by Ted Hood, won the America's Cup in 1974, and then won it again in 1977, with Ted Turner and Dennis Conner at the helm. Courageous was recently acquired by the Courageous Foundation for the major renovation. Along with a new keel, mast, spars, rigging and sails, the yacht's deck and transom have been restored to their 1977 configuration.

The re-christening will feature the traditional breaking of a bottle of champagne on the bow of the boat. She will then be lowered into the water and available for tours and photo ops. Expected to be on hand are members of the winning 1974 and 1977 America's Cup campaigns, including Dennis Conner and Ted Hood, along with Rhode Island State dignitaries.
